Struggle for help
Since the situation got worse, Ayleen's mom finally had to take an unpaid leave to be able to better care for Ayleen. The request for coverage of the home care cost was denied by the health insurance. The reason is Ayleen's age: she turns 12 in April. This is not arbitrariness of the health insurance, it is German law that does not oblige health insurance to cover home care expenses.
Via the University Hospital, Ayleen's mother keeps on working with the health insurance to avert financial catastrophe for the family. Without further support the cost of treatment and living can not be funded by the family anymore.
